How do I register for lessons, either via Skype or in the studio?

I recommend all potential students read materials on this site under the "Teaching" heading, then have an interview for our mutual benefit. I answer questions you may still have, and get an idea of what you already know, and what you'd like to learn. Students younger than age 17 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the interview. You are not obligated to register for lessons afterwards. How do you schedule lessons?

There are two terms per year, Fall Term and Spring Term. Each term is sixteen weeks long. There is an extra week at the end of each term for makeup lessons. Every week, I teach an individual lesson, with the exception of two weeks during each term, when group lessons are held in lieu of individual lessons. During group lesson week, students of similar age, level and musical interests are taught in a class.

What about vacation weeks?

The studio calendar generally follows the public school calendar format, allowing for such things as a February and April vacation week. Do you teach occasional lessons instead of by the term?

Occasional lessons, in lieu of regularly scheduled term lessons, are available only on a pre-approved individual basis and after a detailed consultation. They are not recommended for beginners or children under age 12.

What is the advantage of being able to schedule late morning or early afternoon lessons?

Students registering for these times have an advantage, in that they can often bypass my waiting list. Depending on your schedule, I may be able to find a spot for you immediately. Currently, my schedule is most open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of 12:00 and 3:00 pm, EDT.
