WHAT ABOUT FILLING IN THE GAPS THAT MAY EXIST, IN AN ADULT KEYBOARD STUDENT’S UNDERSTANDING?
When an adult returns to piano or keyboard lessons after a hiatus of years or decades, they generally do remember some things, but not others. It's normal. This happens, even if the most perfect teacher, under the most optimal conditions, taught the most perfect student.
So some students, even though they may have taken piano lessons for many years during an earlier time in life, may actually prefer, and ask their teacher, to teach them as a beginner. This way, even though it’s easy at the beginning, they inevitably progress rapidly through the first stages of learning, but insure that any "holes" in their understanding or skill levels are filled in.
