Multi-Key Approach

  by Content Page.

A multi-key approach to keyboard lessons encourages students to play in all twelve keys. It emphasizes understanding of musical and theory concepts over simple rote learning. Beginning students can often learn five finger patterns in all twelve keys quite easily. Method books which use elements of the multi-key approach include Robert Pace's materials, the Bastien materials, and Frances Clark's The Music Tree.
